When You Feel Desperate

Scripture: 2 Kings 4:1

Desperation often precedes dependence. The widow had lost her husband, her security, and was about to lose her sons. In her desperation, she turned to God’s prophet—not out of strength, but from the pain of having nothing left. Who do you turn to when you are feeling desperate? What do you turn to? When we are at the end of ourselves sometime we can have tendencies to turn to the things of this world, to numb and distract ourselves from the truth, and this truth is that with out the Lord we are truly empty.  Rather that continuing to be independent try to rest in the beautiful dependence on the Lord who meets all your needs.  He is the only one who can fully satisfy,  

Let pray l, Lord, when I feel overwhelmed and at the end of myself, remind me that You are not far away. Help me bring my desperation to You, trusting that You are my provider.
