Hello Advent Family,
Have you ever wondered what things God might do if we all prayed a little bit more fervently?  The Bible is filled with encouragements to pray persistently, boldly, and constantly.  I believe that if we knew just how powerful prayer was we might be better at doing this.  Paul offers us encouragement to be devoted to prayer both for ourselves and for the ministry of the gospel going forth.  Let’s look at his words in Colossians 4 together today.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

I’d like to ask you all to join me in some fervent prayer this Christmas season.  Pray that we all might have a fresh sense of just how much God loves us to have come down to earth and be born as a bay.  A sense of the importance of the message that He taught is while here.  A deep gratitude for Him giving up Himself on the cross to cover our sins.  Pray that those who are coming to church this Christmas Eve would clearly hear and embrace the message of the gospel and the life that Jesus gives us.

In His Grip,
Pastor Dave
